This document outlines an agenda and presentation on fostering crossmedia education in formal educational contexts. It begins with defining crossmedia as the expansion of media to both analog and digital forms, with diverse production and blended user roles. Crossmedia and media convergence are discussed as two sides of media change - crossmedia in media production and economics, and convergence in communications studies and media pedagogy. Barriers to adopting crossmedia at universities are said to include its interdisciplinary nature, lack of perceived relevance, and knowledge/preference limitations of teachers and students.
